Traditional Water Puppet Show by Ancient Troupes
Different from other water puppet shows in Vietnam, shows of Longlink Water Puppet Theatre are performed by various traditional troupes which were established hundreds of years ago. Almost all members of these troupes work as farmers in their home village. They joined the troupe to inherit, protect and develop cultural values of the traditional art created by their forefathers.
Every three months, a new traditional troupe is invited to perform at Longlink Water Puppet Theatre, which makes our shows diverse and different from time to time. Each troupe has its unique techniques and features so tourists will never get bored when watching our show more than one time.
Main content of our water puppet performance includes the daily life of Vietnamese farmers (cultivating, ploughing, fishing…) and activities in a Vietnamese festival (swimming contest, dragon dancing, buffalo fighting…), or historical legends (Legend of Sword Lake…). In addition, at our traditional style theatre, you will certainly feel that you are living in a real village of Vietnam.
