- The rest of the shows with one dollar discount
- Free bottle of water if you like us on Facebook
Our goal is introduce Vietnamese water puppetry art for tourists and locals at a reasonable price and make our culture better known. We hope this campaign makes it easier for new customers to come to see what it’s all about.
Longlink Vietnam has run a water puppet show since the beginning of this year. In Museum of Ethnology we have our homey and traditional theatre. Four times a year a different group of performers arrive to our theatre in Hanoi to perform for three months. Performers come from other provinces and they earn their living as farmers. Water puppetry has been the tradition of Vietnamese farmers for 1 000 years already and we want to offer our audience a very authentic experience. By coming to our show you don’t only see the performance but you also have an opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes and try to manipulate puppets by yourself.
The show is full of different elements and various forms of art. Puppets are made by hand, musicians are playing traditional music and puppeteers are playing with puppets really skilfully of course. The show has something for everybody. A show tells about farmers’ life and simple lifestyle. It’s story about the village, one community. Their hobbies, celebrations, beliefs and days on the field. Water puppetry is a great way to see how Vietnamese people describe their lives by means of art.
So join our show and pay just a dollar for all of this. See you in the theatre!
